The Student Aid Report or SAR is issued to you and your family after you file the FAFSA. Federal Student Aid processes your information and issues you a Student Aid Report or SAR. The Student Aid Report summarizes the data you submitted on the FAFSA and determines your Expected Family Contribution or EFC. If you filed the FAFSA electronically, this may happen in as little as a few days. If filed manually, it may take two weeks. It is good practice to review the SAR for accuracy and follow instructions on the form if there are any errors.
